While shopping for our daughter’s first car, we hit a few bumps in the road, and dealt with some dishonest pushy people who wanted to sell us some sketchy cars. Then we went to Coggins of the Berkshires. We met Robert Mydlak, who had nothing on the lot in our price range. He worked with us anyway, and entertained my daughter’s big ask of a car that was under 10 years old, under 100k miles, and had heated seats - all for under $10k. I figured he’d laugh at us for such a request in the current market, but instead he said, “let’s see what we can do”. The very car we were looking for had just been traded in at their Bennington, VT location. He had it delivered to Pittsfield the very next day! The asking price on that car was more than we wanted to pay, but after a few trips to the back room on our behalf, he was able to get the price down significantly! We were less than prepared to put a deposit on it, because the banks were already closed by this point late in the day, and Coggins was ready to close too. He told me he felt like he could trust me, and we signed the contract with no money down. A few days later (there was a weekend in between), we picked up the car! He even threw in a few extras for us at no extra charge. Some things that the previous owner didn’t leave with the car, like the tire jack and floor mats. Even an extra key which was huge! I had to drive to Coggins Toyota of Bennington to get the new key programmed, but I found that I was treated very well there too. My family highly recommends the Coggins family of dealerships! Well I didn't want to do this but apparently informing this business "Unfortunately, I am recently unemployed, please leave me alone as I am not able to purchase a vehicle" TWICE, was incentive to call and leave me messages multiple times a day. When I blocked the phone numbers to maybe give a third hint, the emails started. Not able to purchase a vehicle means, not able to purchase a vehicle. On top of that, when I had contacted this dealership about purchasing one, they ran my credit and approved me for a loan before they would even schedule me for a test drive (the vehicle was in Burlington. At first it was no big deal to move it, then all of a sudden it was). I like to keep my business in the Berkshires, as we say, but this is one business I will not be dealing with again.

Buying a car (my first one at that) through Coggins of the Berkshires is easily the best decision I've ever made. The process was so simple, their sister location in Bennington was able to ship my new Forester down to Pittsfield, and the financing took minutes. They were also really accommodating with slight delays in banking. The folks at this dealership have a keen attention to detail and you can tell they love, care for, and pay attention to the last ten feet of purchasing a vehicle. The customer service was unbelievable- not knowing what to expect, I braced myself for abrasive or aggressive sales tactics, but it's so easy to melt in Robert and Courtney's presence. I almost had to ask myself, that's it? Anyway, you should buy a car at this dealership. Thanks!

I had a great experience at Coggins. I was hesitant at first since I usually buy from other known dealerships (which I learned the hard way they lack of experience). Coggins make me feel comfortable and did not stressed me out. They were ready for me and answered all my questions accurately. I did not feel pressure and was able to freely shop for a vehicle. Mr. Robert fulfilled all my expectations and treated me great. The only thing that was not done was refilling the coolant of the vehicle but other than that I was well served. Dealing with them was great in person when getting my vehicle. But later when work needed to be done that was stated to me the warranty covers, all of a sudden there’s a bunch of stipulations with the warranty that I was never told about. Things really should have been communicated better so things like this don’t happen and I shouldn’t have to replace brakes months down the line out of pocket when I should not have needed brakes.

Courtney and Robert were amazing! They made the trade of my old vehicle and purchase of my new vehicle super fast and easy!!! Will definitely suggest people that I know do their car shopping there!

As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted and asked how I could be helped, even though it was 4:50 on a Saturday. I asked to test drive one vehicle but saw another that I liked even more! I had been looking for a vehicle that fit my needs and requirements. I had quite a few of them. My first visit with Rob we couldn't find anything that matched up, but unlike the other dealerships I went to he didn't give up searching. It was only a couple days later he was able to find something that fit my budget and checked all the boxes I was looking for. Friendly and eager to help staff. I recommend getting your next car from them for sure.

I do not recommend that anyone buys a car from here. Once they take your money no one will return your calls. They don’t care about the customers, just care about taking your money
